ABOUT ME...
GEORGE LEIJA
It hard to believe that I am starting my fifth year of playing in public during 2010 in the Central New York area even though I've been playing music for over forty years!
The purpose of this site is to allow all who enter the opportunity to learn something new about me, George Leija, or the Live Bait Band, which he played with in 2008, or any of the venues he has had the pleasure to be affiliated with.
You will also be able to access an updated listing of events where George is playing and see pictures of the places he has performed and the talented people he has had the pleasure to perform with.

In 2010, the group of talented musicians which he had the great fortune to be able to
play country music with every Monday evening at the American Legion Hall
in Phoenix, NY, decided they would seek other venues as well. So, if by
chance, you see listings for
"George Leija and The Monday Night Band"
you will understand who and what they are. While they are a new name, they have been
playing together with no name for over a year as entertainment for the
Vets and all those who enter their hall.

George Leija is a multi-talented entertainer. Having performed for many audiences, large and small in both Detroit, MI and Syracuse, NY. His voice, many reflect, sounds so much like the original singers of the recordings, that they are amazed at his range and sound.
George plays the acoustic guitar mostly, but can play rhythm electric, piano, banjo, drums, percussion and many other instruments. He sings lead vocals and can sing harmony for others.
He is a great showman, always involving his audience in his performance whenever he can. He prefers to have people "help" with the performance of some songs making the show more lively. Kids love to be out when George is playing music. He has selected songs geared just for kids too, that even the parents love.
